Apex Field
An 24”x29” panel composition built from 98 faux 2”x2” silver pyramids and three larger 4”x4” distressed white pyramids, set within a distressed steel frame. The surface is organized as a dense geometric field where repetition establishes rhythm, while variation in scale interrupts uniformity and creates visual hierarchy across the plane.
The faux steel pyramids carry a metallic presence that catches light in sharp, shifting fragments, while the larger white forms introduce a weathered contrast that softens and breaks the grid-like structure. This interplay creates a tension between precision and erosion, giving the work a sense of both construction and decay.
As light moves across the surface, the relief changes constantly, revealing depth through shadow, reflection, and angle. The result is a structured yet atmospheric composition that reads like a constructed landscape of repeating peaks and fractured moments.
